Jeff Bailey
Jeff Bailey started RCS in 2006 recognizing the lack of engineering analysis particularly in the Drag Racing community. Jeff started his interest in drag racing running several Pontiac GTO’s in the late ‘70’s. He raced Sno-Pro snowmobiles in the early ‘80’s transitioning to SCCA Formula 440’s. Competed in track-days with several Corvettes and Porsche 911 turbos. He was distracted building several businesses starting in the 90’s. He still consults with his previous company, Bailey Specialty Cranes & Aerials supporting the aircraft / aerospace customers supplying specialized lift equipment.
In 2006 he was bracket racing 1964 GTO’s running low 8 seconds and developed various load cells and air-speed sensors that would integrate with RacePak systems.
3500HP ProMod
Seeing the need to integrate physical testing with Structural Dynamics Simulation and Aerodynamics Simulation, he identified ProMod drag racing as the best class to combine physical testing with Software Simulation.
In 2018, a devastating crash in his 3500HP ProMod left him with limited use of his hands and legs, as well as paralyzed vocal cords. Despite significant progress, he still spends much of his day in a powered wheelchair and communicates with a voice that can be hard to understand.
Today, Jeff remains an active contributor to the racing community, specializing in Stress Analysis, Dynamic Simulation, Aerodynamic CFD Simulation and 3D Scanning of all types of racing vehicles . His work is supported by a 4000 square foot shop equipped with a car lift, motorcycle lift and a complete fab shop.
